Thalpitigala Reservoir Project
The Thalpitigala Reservoir of 15.56 MCM capacity will be constructed in Badulla district in Uva province by constructing a 280m long 45.7 m high Roller Compacted Concrete dam across the Uma Oya at upstream of the Bathmadilla anicut. It is expected to divert the water stored in this reservoir through a tunnel (Approximately 1km) for the purpose of generating the electricity and cater the irrigation water requirements.
The main objective of this project is to solve the possible water deficit in lower areas of uma oya due to the construction of Puhulpola and Diaraba reservoirs under the Uma Oya Multi-purpose Development Project.
Currently a contract has been signed with China Sinohydro Co. Ltd. to implement this project at a cost of US$ 174 with the financial assistance of the EXIM Bank of China.It is expected to complete the project within 4 years.

තල්පිටිගල ජලාශ ව්‍යාපෘතිය
හැදින්වීම
උමා ඔය, දිග 280m, උස 45.7m වන (Roller Compact Concrete) කොන්ක්‍රීට් බැම්මක් මඟින් හරස් කිරීමෙන් ධාරිතාවය 15.56MCM වන තල්පිටිගල ජලාශය ඌව පළාතෙහි බදුල්ල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ බත්මැඩිල්ල අමුණට ඉහළින් ඉදිකිරීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වේ. අනතුරුව මෙම ජලාශයේ රැස් කර ගන්නා ජලය උමං මාර්ගයක් (1 Km පමණ දිග) තුලින් හරවා යැවීමෙන් විදුලිබල උත්පාදනයත් (වාර්ෂිකව 51.3 Gwh) වාරි කටයුතු සඳහා ජලය සැපයීමත් සිදුකිරීමට අපේක්ෂිතය.
උමා ඔය බහුකාර්ය සංවර්ධන වයාපෘතිය යටතේ සිදුවන පුහුල්පොළ හා ඩයරබා ජලාශ ඉදිකිරීම නිසා උමා ඔය පහළ ප්‍රදේශයන්හී ඇති විය හැකි ජල හිඟය සඳහා විසදුමක් ලබාදීම මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියේ ප්‍රධාන අරමුණයි.
ව්‍යාපෘතියේ ප්‍රතිලාභ
- 3 GWh ජල විදුලි බල ශක්තියක් වාර්ෂිකව උපදවා ගැනීම
- පවතින ඉඩම් හෙක්ටයාර 810 කට හා නව ඉඩම් හෙක්ටයාර 400 කට යල මහ දෙකන්නයටම අවශ්‍ය වාරි ජලය සැපයීම.
- කන්දකැටිය ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාසයේ ජනතාවගේ පානීය ජල අවශ්‍යතා සපුරාලීම් සඳහා ජාතික ජල සම්පාදන හා ජලාපවාහන මණ්ඩලය සමග සාකච්ජා කරමින් පවතී.
- කන්දකැටිය සිට ඌව පරණගම දක්වා පිවිසුම් මාර්ගයක් ඉදිකිරීම (වාසනාගම, ඌව පරණගම)

වර්තමාන තත්ත්වය
- මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සදහා ණය ගිවිසුම අත්සන් කර ඇති අතර මෙම වසර සඳහා රු.මි. 5557 ක ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන් වී ඇත.
- IEE අනුමත කර ඇති අතර අවතැන් වන පවුල් සහ නැවත පදිංචි කිරීම සඳහා ඉඩම් හදුනා ගෙන ඇත. මේ වනවිට එම ඉඩම් අත්පත් කර ගැනීමේ හා වන්දි ගෙවීමේ කටයුතු සිදුකරමින් පවතී.
- පාරිසරික බලපෑම් ඇගයීමේ වාර්තාව අවසන් කර ඇත.
- සමාජ ආර්ථික ඇගයීමේ වාර්තාව ආරම්භ කර ඇත.
- නැවත පදිංචි කිරීමේ ක්‍රියාකාරී සැලැස්ම සැකසීම ආරම්භ කර ඇත.
